Ah yes. I have heard this music many times! It only lasted like 100 times longer.
Graduation is one of my favorite times in student ministry. I love celebrating our Seniors and what they have done. It is also a time that is sad because you know that many of the students will be going away for college and will not be part of the youth ministry anymore. Graduation/The end of the school Year is a great opportunity to do some really cool things for students.
One of the Main things that we do every year is a Graduate Reception
- We do it after service on Sunday Night
- We have cake & punch (a must)
- We allow our students to have their own table that they personalize.
- Each student has a bag or basket that the church can put cards in.
This simple event has served to be a great way to honor our graduates. It has also given the church a way to personally congratulate each of the graduates. Also this is something that our other students really look forward to.
