Here are the notes/resources that were given out during my session at NAYC this year. I know everyone was not able to get a physical copy of the handout that attended the session so I wanted to provide it for those who were interested. It was such an honor to be able to meet and to speak with so many amazing youth workers this year at NAYC. I am so thankfkul for the GYD, and the great job they did this year with Youth Congress.
Hey youth workers. I wanted to let you know about a great event that is happening this year in St. Louis August 5-6. It is The Commune-ity Meeting. The Commune-ity Meeting is a youth workers training conference that takes place every two years hosted by the GYD.
I was able to attend the last commune-ity meeting in Cincinnati in 2008 and it was amazing. I took our entire staff from revolution and all of them really enjoyed it. The reason that I am posting this so early is because now is the time to start making plans to attend. This is a student ministry conference that will cut to the heart of student ministry! I am pumped to hear my friend David bring it! We are going to be there this year! Hopefully I'll see you in the STL in August.

Wow, is it the end of 2009 already? That means it's almost time for some Winter Youth Retreat action! Winter Retreat is a gathering of students in Louisville, KY that we get to attend each year! It is always a great time. We ALWAYS leave each year with students who have been impacted by Jesus!

I realize that this post is a little late but better late than never! About a month ago now I was able to experience my first North American Youth Congress. NAYC is a gathering of United Pentecostal students (this year nearly 18,000) from all over North America.
It was absolutely incredible to see that many students gathering together to worship Jesus Christ. The preaching/teaching was awesome! Our students are still buzzing from what happened at NAYC.
Our National Youth President Shay Mann & his team at the GYD did a great job organizing NAYC. I loved the creativity that was displayed and led by THE Wayne Francis. I witnessed a generation rising up at Youth Congress this year. I have so much hope for the future. God is going to use this generation like none other!

Last Friday & Saturday I went to the KY District Mens Retreat at Barren River St. Park. It was a great retreat. There is something special about Mens Retreat every year. There are not very many formalities at Mens Retreat. Everyone is allowed to be casual and just soak in what is being taught. It is so awesome to be in a room full of men and watch as all lift up the name of Jesus. There is a feeling like, "This is how it is supposed to be." Men taking their place as spiritual leaders. It is always inspiring. This year was no exception. Mike Williams from Apopka, FL was the main speaker. I was challenged by the messages that he spoke. During his sermons he quoted many CHAPTERS of scriptures. It was so awesome and powerful to just listen to someone who had taken the time to hide the word in their heart. God really challenged me through his ministry to focus more on memorizing the scriptures. We had a blast at Men's Retreat 2008. I can't wait until next year!
A conference that I went to last October is doing a pretty cool thing. They are having a Roadtrip. This means for 5 months two guys are traveling across America in their "Vanagon" talking to Pastors/leaders about church growth, ministry, and leadership. I think it is a pretty cool concept. They even interviewed a Pastor that I know Tim Zuniga, Senior Pastor of Goodlettsville United Pentecostal Church in Goodlettsville, TN. He is a great preacher and I had a great time talking with him at Catalyst last year. His video is really good. He talks about how submission has been so important in his life and ministry. I think the cool thing about the roadtrip is that they are hearing the voice of real people that have came to one of their events. There is power in "Going the distance" to hear the voice of the people that you minister to. Good job Catalyst! You gotta love the Vanagon! I think we need a Revolution Vanagon!
Tonight was amazing. It was such a powerful experience with Jesus. YPG is so creative but the coolest part of the night is the powerful move of God. The worship, led by Derek Arms was so authentic.
He sang one of my favorite new songs by Chris Tomlin called sing, sing, sing.
Then Bro. Wayne Francis brought the word tonight. He talked about how Moses took the tabernacle outside of the camp. The people did not leave the camp to go worship. They were content to stay at the door of their tents and watch someone else experience God instead of going themselves.
I was so thankful to be in the presence of Jesus. I was so proud of the students of revolution for responding to God tonight. We even had a girl recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit tonight. It was definately worth the journey.
